Things you should know

Our four standard colours are Black, Charcoal, Bronze and Traffic White, across awnings, ceilings, doors and windows.

Aluminium doesn't rust, stays light, and takes a powder-coat finish in our four standard colours. Our louvre carriers, posts and blades are powder-coated aluminium and carry our 15-year guarantee against rust, paint chipping and corrosion.

No. Patio Projex doesn't supply Chromadek®, which is pre-painted galvanised steel. On our louvre awnings, the carriers, posts and blades are powder-coated aluminium. Our fixed IBR awnings are aluminium too, sheets and frame. Our comparison of aluminium and Chromadek® awnings sets out the differences, with sources.

Yes. Louvre systems open and close with either a manual gearbox or a motor, so you can close them during a storm or intense sun.

Every motorised louvre we fit runs on a Somfy motor. The motor is covered by Somfy's own warranty; our 15-year guarantee covers the aluminium: the louvre carriers, posts and blades.

Top-quality shatterproof glass, in single- or double-glazed options. Double glazing improves both thermal and acoustic insulation.

A 15-year guarantee on the aluminium, against rust, paint chipping and corrosion. Patio ceilings are guaranteed waterproof under standard Highveld rainstorms, with the gutters kept clean, and motors are covered by Somfy's own warranty.

Ours are 95% watertight in Highveld storms. Unlike traditional louvre systems, every Patio Projex louvre includes a full all-round gutter system.

Our patio ceilings are guaranteed waterproof under standard Highveld rainstorms, with the gutters kept clean. Each one is a double-roof system with a full all-round gutter, and from below it looks like a room's ceiling.

Yes — doors and windows are fully weather-sealed and draft-sealed, engineered to withstand severe wind loads.

These are our starting prices, supplied and installed: adjustable louvre awnings from R3 200 per m², aluminium pergolas from R3 000 per m², insulated patio ceilings from R2 800 per m², fixed IBR awnings from R2 100 per m² and patio roofs from R2 100 per m². What moves the price is the size and span, the type of roof, whether a louvre is motorised (a Somfy motor costs more than a manual gearbox), the colour and finish, access to the site and add-ons such as lights or screens. We confirm every measurement on site before anything is made, and the exact price follows from that.
