The suburbs we cover
We install across Morningside, Bryanston, Sandown, Benmore, Parkmore, Atholl, Illovo, Rivonia, Hyde Park and Woodmead. Patio Projex works across Gauteng, and everything we fit is manufactured to your measurements in South Africa — so a Morningside entertainment patio and a Rivonia carport are both custom builds, not catalogue sizes cut down. For Johannesburg as a whole, see louvre and aluminium awnings in Johannesburg.
We have completed and photographed work in Bryanston, Sandown and Woodmead — each one written up in full among our case studies.
What suits Sandton homes
Sandton's newer builds lean architectural: flat fascias, clean parapets, large glazed openings onto the garden. That language rewards a system with a straight, uninterrupted line — which is why adjustable louvre awnings are the most requested option here. Closed, the blades read as a solid roof; open, they let winter sun onto the patio without the heaviness of a fixed structure.
Because so many of these patios are the main entertaining space, we're usually specifying for evening use as much as daytime shade. Downlights recessed into an insulated ceiling, or a louvre system sized to cover a full seating and braai layout, tend to matter more than raw square metres.
- Automated louvres — Somfy motors, popular on larger spans where cranking would be a chore
- Charcoal and black finishes — the closest match to contemporary aluminium window frames
- Palace sliding doors — slim profiles that keep a garden view intact when the patio gets enclosed
- Insulated patio ceilings — for patios that need to work as a year-round room, not just a summer one
Building for Highveld weather
Sandton gets the full Highveld summer: hot, still mornings and hard afternoon storms. Every louvre and IBR system we build carries a full all-round gutter system, with the downpipe outlets placed on site, and our louvre systems are 95% watertight once closed. That matters more here than it sounds — the difference between a patio you abandon at the first rumble and one you keep using is how fast the roof seals and where the water goes.
Getting a Sandton quote
Send a photo of the area with rough width, projection and height. We come back with a tailored quote covering the aluminium system and its 15-year guarantee, colour from our four finishes, and whether manual or automated operation makes sense for the span. Every measurement is confirmed on site before anything is manufactured.
